PRIVACY & TRANSPARENCY
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026. Online Level is committed to transparency and user privacy.
Privacy by Design: Zero Remote Sensor Collection
Online Level processes all orientation and motion data strictly inside your device's web browser thread. We do not transmit, log, sell, or store your sensor readings, tilt angles, or motion telemetry on any remote servers.
The measurement calculations happen entirely on your phone or computer, meaning your physical environment and movements remain completely private.
1. Device Sensor Data Processing
When you open Online Level and grant permission (required on iOS devices), the application accesses the browser's DeviceOrientation API to read your device's angular tilt (beta and gamma angles).
This motion stream is processed in real time purely for the interactive bubble animation, audio tone pitch, and numerical degree displays. Once a sensor event has been rendered, the raw data point is immediately discarded from memory. No sensor data is ever transmitted across the network.
2. Client-Side Preferences & Local Storage
Online Level does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal identification. To preserve your preferences between sessions, the application stores non-identifying settings locally in your browser's localStorage:
- Calibration zero-offset: Stores your relative zero plane offset so you do not have to recalibrate on every visit.
- Audio preference: Remembers whether you toggled alignment sound ON or OFF.
- Vibration preference: Remembers whether you toggled haptic feedback ON or OFF.
- Theme preference: Remembers your selection between dark mode and light mode.
These preference values are stored exclusively on your device and are never sent to our servers. You can erase this data at any time by clearing your browser site data or clicking the Reset button within the tool.
3. Cookies & Network Infrastructure
Online Level does not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or commercial profiling scripts.
Like all websites delivered over the internet, our hosting and content delivery network (CDN) providers automatically receive standard technical HTTP requests necessary to deliver the site files (such as your IP address, browser user-agent, and requested file path). These standard server logs are maintained strictly for network routing, security defense, and DDoS mitigation.
4. External Links
Our website may contain references or links to external websites and documentation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or cookie policies of external sites. We encourage you to review their respective privacy statements.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect technical improvements or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted directly on this page with an updated revision date.
